Rody Rodriguez

Rody has been with A&E since its inception in 1996. Born and raised in Miami, Rody became interested in reptiles and exotic animals at an early age. Since his teenage years, he has kept and bred several species of snakes, specializing in rare boas and pythons. In 1987, Rody joined the army and trained in tropical locations including Hawaii, Japan, and the Phillipines. Following his service in the military, his life-long interest in animals led him to seek out his current career in the veterinary field.

For many years, Rody has worked for select private practices and zoos in the Miami area.  He has vast experience with species ranging from large exotic cats to primates to highly endangered parrots. He is fearless when it comes to handling dangerous beasts and his restraint skills far exceed those of the famous "Crocodile Hunter".

Jorge Archilla

Jorge is actually a veterinarian who came to us from Argentina.  While preparing for his U.S. licensing, he is assisting us with animal care and lab technology.  We're pretty fortunate to have the bonus of his veterinary experience in handling patients.

Barbara Bonfocchi

Barbara is ANOTHER veterinarian, this time from Portugal.  She is also working on obtaining her license to practice veterinary medicine in the U.S.  Meanwhile, Barbara has more experience with rabbits and small mammals than the Easter Bunny.  There are many instances where she takes personal responsibility for specialized cases that require her special touch.

The late Roly Rodriguez, 1968-2011

Our beloved Roly is gone.  Roly began working at AEAMC in 1998.  He was a model of selflessness and good will.  He died of a heart attack on Tuesday, January 18th, 2011.  Even a heart of gold is not invincible.  We elected to keep him here, to memorialize the blessings he brought to us.

Oscar

The newest member of our staff, Oscar.......... doesn't do much of anything.  He is pretty good at asking to be fed, and, when presented with a tasty meal, he's, well, all over it.  He does handle the more delicate tasks.  Ever heard the saying "we could use and extra hand"?  He's got 'em.
