He has written several articles on birds, reptiles, and small mammals, and has lectured nationally on exotic pet topics. His clinical practice is limited to birds, reptiles, ferrets, rabbits, rodents, zoo animals, fish, and other small companion mammals.

Complementing his veterinary experience with birds, Dr. Kramer has worked extensively in the field studying avian behavioral ecology in remote areas of Panama, Alaska, and California. He is fluent in the identification and natural history of hundreds of species of birds. On his days off, you might find Dr. Kramer birdwatching deep in the Florida Everglades, where he enjoys viewing wildlife from his canoe. He also has a strong interest in reptiles and their veterinary care, and has first hand experience maintaining a large breeding collection of chameleons, geckos, tortoises, and various invertebrates.

Beyond the veterinary realm, Dr. Kramer has several outside interests. Since childhood, he has had a passion for various "board" sports including snowboarding, skateboarding, kneeboarding, and wakeboarding. Some of his other hobbies range from digital imaging to exotic plant propagation to fishing. Since moving to Miami, he has come to appreciate the local Latin culture, and you can often find him dancing salsa and eating Latin food !

While working with clients and their exotic pets, Dr. Kramer is practical, realistic, and compassionate. He is described as reliable, flexible, dedicated, and patient, with a good sense of humor and an easy-going manner that enables him to establish a good rapport with co-workers and clients.

Throughout his veterinary career, he has maintained a position on the forefront of veterinary medicine, staying well informed of the rapid advances in exotic pet medicine. He is well prepared to serve South Florida and its plethora of non-traditional pets.
